Present Wanderings

These paintings stem from a process of wondering and wandering, allowing uncertainty and curiosity to lead the way. Initially a mash-up, the painted layers evolve into a mapping of interconnections, and intersections. The multiple layers of paint, both transparent and opaque, document the accidental intermixing with the intentional. Shapes and colors are formed and destroyed as they slice through, overlap and mix. Lines reach across, touch, halt, fade, and drip. This interweaving allows a bit of everything to show at once, an attempt at transparency, a search for meaning - a reveling in the in-between state of existence.
